Getaway Cabins Policies

Our policies are designed to ensure every guest has a safe and enjoyable stay in Hocking Hills.

👤 Age Requirement

  • The person reserving the cabin must be 21+ years
  • No third-party reservations allowed; the reserving guest must be one of the occupants.

⏰ Check-In / Check-Out

  • Check-in: 4:00 PM. Directions & electronic keypad codes sent 2 days prior.
  • Early check-in / late check-out: Available depending on approval and availability, for a fee.
  • Check-out: 11:00 AM. Make sure you didn’t leave any personal items, wash your dishes, and put trash in designated cans. Then lock the cabin with the keypad.

💳 Payment

  • Full payment required at booking.
  • Accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express.
  • Taxes: 7.25% Hocking County sales tax + 6% lodging tax.
  • A 3% credit card processing fee also applies.
  • Reservation verification & pre-registration required:
    • Stay within 4 months: complete pre-registration within 24 hours of booking.
    • Stay more than 4 months away: you will be contacted by email or phone when it’s time to pre-register.

❌ Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Reservations canceled more than two weeks before arrival: 90% refund.
  • Reservations canceled between three days and two weeks before arrival: 50% refund.
  • Reservations canceled less than 72 hours before arrival: no refund.
  • This policy applies to ANY REASON, including but not limited to a death in the family, illness, or hospitalization.
  • Travelers insurance recommended.

🛏 Minimum Stay

  • Weekends: Friday + Saturday nights.
  • Weekdays: Sunday–Thursday single-night stays allowed.
  • Holiday weekends: usually 3-night minimum.

🔧 Damages & Amenities

  • Guests responsible for damages or excessive cleaning.
  • Report issues at check-in to avoid charges.
  • If a guest moves furniture it must be returned to the same place
  • Appliances, hot tubs, fireplaces may occasionally malfunction—no rental concessions for downtime.

🛣 Driving & Accessibility

  • Roads may be steep, curvy, or gravel. Four-wheel drive is recommended in winter.
  • No refunds for difficulties accessing the cabin due to road conditions or weather.

🐜 Bugs & Wildlife

  • Guests are staying in the woods, and may encounter the occasional wasp, spider, wood roach, or mouse.
  • Each cabin is treated regularly for insects, and traps are utilized for mice.
  • If guests experience an issue with insects or mice, please contact the main office immediately during business hours or the after-hours number outside of business hours
  • No compensation will be provided for seeing a bug or mouse if the issue was not reported and given the opportunity to correct.

🌲 Acts of Nature

  • Being in a rural wooded area, electricity and other services may go out unexpectedly due to storms or natural events.
  • We make every effort to alert affected guests and provide estimated restoration times.
  • No refunds will be provided for outages or disruptions caused by acts of nature, including but not limited to storms, lightning, snow, or other unforeseen natural events.

🚫 Prohibited Items & Activities

  • No hunting, weapons (including paintball/air guns), firecrackers, or ATVs at cabin properties.

🎉 Holidays

  • Charged at weekend rates; generally 3-night minimum. Call for exact dates.

👥 Occupancy

  • Maximum occupancy must be observed.
  • No extra visitors; violation may result in removal without refund.

🚭 Smoking & Marijuana

  • No smoking or vaping inside cabins.
  • Smoking allowed outside/decks; ashtrays provided.
  • $200 fee for cigarette or marijuana odor inside, even if not smoked in the cabin.
  • Marijuana stored inside must be sealed to prevent odor.

🐾 Pets

  • Pets allowed only in designated cabins, with prior approval.
  • Maximum 3 pets per cabin. $15 per pet per night.
  • Pets must be leashed outside and crated if left unattended.
  • Guests responsible for bringing sheets/coverings for couches or beds used by pets.
  • $50 fee for excessive dog hair; unauthorized pets: $100 fee.

⚠️ Conduct

  • Guests asked to leave due to disruptive behavior or policy violations are not refunded.
