Getaway Cabins®, About Your Stay

About Your Stay

Before contacting us with questions please browse some general information about your cabin stay at Getway Cabins in Hocking Hills.

If your question is not answered below you can check our FAQ page or contact us directly by phone and email.

What to Bring

All of your towels and linens, cookware and utensils, and dish soap are provided. Just bring your food and toiletries. Most calls that we recieve are related to specific kitchen items that you may need to prepare your meal and we always advise if it is a necessary item always bring it in case. We try our best to provide decent firepit chairs but its never a bad idea to bring a fold up chair with you as well. Don’t forget your hiking boots and cameras! Our cabins all have well-water some have a higher sulfur content then others so we encourage you to also to bring your own drinking water.

Amenities

Occasionally appliances, hot tubs, fireplaces, etc… can malfunction. We will service and restore these amenities as quickly as we can, but will not make any rental concession for time without these items. Likewise, loss of electricity, water, or other “Acts of God” that are outside of our control will not result in a refund of any monies paid. We ask that you follow all guidelines and policies regarding use of amenities in order to keep them functioning at peak efficiency. Due to cleaning and servicing, hot tubs are sometimes not up to full temperature at the time of check in and may need several hours to heat.

Extended Stays

If you are staying more than two days, your hot tub will be checked on the third day and every other day thereafter. We will also bring you new towels on those days.

Fireplaces

Electric fireplaces are operational all year. It just takes a push of the button and you have "flames." please note that cabins 12, 13, 14, 15, 30, 31, 32, 33, 37 and 38 have propane fireplaces that are operational from October-April as deemed appropriate by the weather and management.

Telephones

We have many cabins that have phones. Some only allow local calls only. These cabins are 12, 13, 14, 15, 32 and 33. All other cabins do not have phones but have access to a community phone with nationwide long distance and are available 24hrs/day.

Electrical Outages

Unfortunatley electrical outages do happen out here in the country! We do have flashlights in the cabins, but you might want to bring one just in case.

Bugs and More

We have our cabins professionally treated on a regular basis, but we have invaded the natural habitat. You are in the middle of the woods and you WILL see bugs and always a possiblility to see rodents and  spiders during your stay!

Satellite TV

Most of our cabins now offer DirecTV. We also offer a free video lending library at the office. Feel free to check out as many movies as you would like, or bring your own. Each cabin has a DVD player, please note that they are NOT BluRay compatible.

Winter Weather

Please note that there are no refunds due to inclement weather, and that we HIGHLY RECOMMEND four wheel drive during the Winter months. While most roads around us are State Routes and school bus routes and are therefore well-cared for, the very nature of the roads in the Hocking Hills area can make traveling difficult if you are not experienced driving in ice or snow. All of our driveways are gravel, and can be as much as 1/2 mile long. We suggest staying at our Chapel Ridge location if any of this makes you nervous, and that you plan to arrive before dark to make driving easier. Please make sure that you have everything with you that you will need for the duration of your stay. It is YOUR responsibility to be able to get to and from your cabin. Still not scared??...Good! We’ve done our best to give you all the “cons” and to be sure that you are ready for the worst case scenarios, but we think that if you’ll give Winter in the Hocking Hills a chance, you’ll really be hooked! There's nothing like sitting in a hot tub and watching it snow! Most of our guests that have experienced the Hills in the Winter make it a yearly tradition.

Office Hours

Our Office at the Main Location is open Sunday-Friday 9am to 5:00pm daily. Closed Saturday. Feel free to stop in for videos, brochures, or suggestions on what to do and where to go anytime during our office hours.

"We enjoyed our stay here very much. Living in the city, the seclusion the cabins provide was appreciated. I loved seeing all the deer and other animals-we didn't even have to look for them! Everything was great!"
