Getaway Cabin Policies
At Getaway Cabins® we do ask that our guests respect the policies we have set for our guests to Hocking Hills.. These policies have been set to make cabin stays at Getaway Cabins® the best experience possible for all of our guests.
Minimum Stay Requirements:Weekend stays require both Friday and Saturday nights. During the week (Sunday-Thursday) single night stays are available. A three night minimum may be required on holiday weekends.
Minimum Age:All guests must be 21 years of age or have a parent or guardian with staying in the cabin with you, in order to rent a cabin.
Damages:We reserve the right to charge your credit card for any damages or excessive cleaning from your stay. If you notice any problems upon checking in, please let us know right away to avoid any damages being charged to your account.
Amenities:Occasionally appliances, hot tubs, fireplaces, etc… can malfunction. We will service and restore these amenities as quickly as we can, but will not make any rental concession for time without these items. Due to cleaning and servicing, hot tubs are sometimes not up to full temperature at the time of check in and may need several hours to heat. We ask that you follow all guidelines and policies regarding use of amenities in order to keep them functioning at peak efficiency. Failure to do so may result in damage or excessive cleaning charges. Gas fireplaces are operational September through April or as deemed necessary by management.
Driving Conditions:Most roads in our area are very well maintained, but can be curvy and steep. All of our cabins have gravel driveways, with some being very long. While they are routinely maintained, they can be bumpy or slippery at times. We recommend four-wheel drive whenever possible, especially during the winter. There are no refunds due to inclement weather. It is YOUR responsibility to be able to get to and from your cabin.
Bugs:Please be aware that you are coming to stay in the middle of the woods. While we have our cabins treated on a regular basis, it is likely that you will see bugs during your stay. We are not able to refund your reservation if you see bugs or spiders during your stay.
Weather:Once again you are coming to stay in the middle of the woods. Depending on the time of year you may experience rain, hail, sleet, snow, lightening, and etc. All of these things can cause satellite and power outages. While we try to prepare the cabins and remedy issues to the best of our ability for these "acts of god", we do not reimburse for things out of our control.
Hunters, Weapons, Firecrackers, ATV's:Absolutely no hunters, weapons of any kind (including paintball or air guns) are permitted on our cabin properties. Likewise, we do not allow ATV's or firecrackers to be used at any of our locations.
Holidays:Holidays are charged at the weekend rate, and usually have minimum stay requirements (call for exact dates). Holiday weekends always have a three day minimum stay requirement.
Payment:We require the payment in full at the time of reservation. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. We have both 7% sales tax in Hocking County, and 6% lodging tax added to the rental rates. (7.25% sales tax for Vinton County cabins #26,#27,#33,#34,#35,#36).
Cancellations:Reservations that are cancelled more than two weeks prior to your stay, will receive a 90% refund. Cancellations less than two weeks, but more than three days prior to the reservation will receive a 50% refund. There is no refund for cancellations less than 72 hours prior to the stay. We are more than happy to reschedule your stay dates any time prior to two weeks before your scheduled arrival. We are not able to reschedule a stay less than two weeks prior to arrival. Within this time frame, our regular cancellation fee applies. In the event of an early departure, we cannot give any kind of refund. There are no cancellations due to inclement weather.
Check-In:Check-In is between 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Main Office. If your cabin is at another location, you will be given keys and directions to get to your cabin. We will work diligently to have your cabin ready for you right at 3:00pm, but there are rare occasions when additional cleaning may be required or when your hot tub may not be fully heated until later that night. There is no refund in these situations. If you are not able to arrive before 5:00pm, we can leave your information for you, but we prefer to give you directions in person.
Check-Out:Check-Out is by 11:00am. You do not need to come to the office to check out. Simply clean up, leave the key, and lock the cabin behind you. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate late check outs. Check-in and Check-out times are strictly enforced so that we can make sure that each cabin is ready for our guests.
Occupancy:All of our rates are based on two-person occupancy. In those cabins that allow for more guests, additional adults are $15 per night and additional children (under 16) are $10 per night. Infants under one year stay at no additional charge. Please limit the number of guests to the maximum occupancy of the cabin and to the number of guests included in your reservation. We do not allow additional visitors. You will be charged for any additional guests, and may be asked to leave without refund if you exceed the maximum occupancy of the cabin.
Smoking:Smoking is not allowed inside the cabins, but you are welcome to smoke outside or on the decks/porches. Ashtrays are provided for your use. Smoking in the cabin will result in a $100 charge, and the violation will be reported to the Ohio Department of Health.
Pets Welcome:Pets Welcome at Pet Friendly Cabins - Well mannered, house broken pets are allowed in designated pet cabins only, and with prior approval. Because of the additional time involved in cleaning a cabin that a pet has stayed in, there is a charge of $30 per pet per stay. Pets must be kept on a leash when outside with you, and may not be left alone in your cabin unless crated. A maximum of three pets per cabin are permitted. Unauthorized pets will result in a $100 fee.
No refunds will be made in the event a person is required to vacate the premises because of disruptive conduct or failure to follow our rental guidelines and policies.
